Deuteronomy 6:4-9

Listen, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are are at home and when you are on the road, when your are going to bed and when your are getting up. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

Spring in Indiana

spring2010 006

Spring is here…this photo was taken by my 10 yr old daughter, Sydney.  These tulips have died off and are merely shriveling leaves, but our deep purple Irises are now blooming and we are anxiously anticipating the arrival of our peonies!

Today though is not so “springy” as it is unseasonably cold and rainy.  I’m convinced the Lord purposely sent this day to slow us down!  To make us stop and rest.  We’ve spent the majority of our last weeks working outdoors and it is definitely time for rest.   As an avid gardener I also have a deep appreciation for rainy days, knowing that we will reap the benefits come harvest time.

Blogging's just not for me...

Ok, so here I am. After all this time of saying, "No, blogging's just not for me." I decided that it seems like a circus around here and why not share it with all of my faraway, or not so faraway, friends and family! So here we go...jumping in with both feet! Watch out...it's never a dull moment on our little patch of Indiana!
