Deuteronomy 6:4-9

Listen, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are are at home and when you are on the road, when your are going to bed and when your are getting up. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

Preparing for frost

 spring2010 052

The weather forecasts predicted frost for last night and tonight.  In an attempt to save our fragile garden plants the kids went out yesterday with canning jars and covered each plant.  Each of the “older” ones (all of them except for London:)) has a garden plot on which they have planted a variety of vegetables in hopes of selling the produce this summer.  Harrison, London, and I are teaming up on his little garden plot.  So far they are taking their little business seriously….we’ll see how that goes when it comes time to weed!
